It comprises all the unicellular (single-celled), prokaryotic organisms (cell type), having no well-defined nucleus or lacking a true nucleus (no membrane-bound nucleus), and no organelles.

Organisms of this kingdom have cell wall, cell membrane, and cytoplasm. Bacteria are the sole members of the monera kingdom.
